Building on more than a decade as a pioneer and leader in email management solutions that have been adopted by businesses and organizations around the world, emailtopia Corp., announced today the immediate availability of Response Manager 5.2.

Virtually every organization and company has at least two or three corporate email addresses that need to be routed, managed, tracked and archived. (E.g. sales@, customerservice@, and info@). Response Manager eases the burden of managing these "group" mailboxes by allowing multiple people within the company to share the email workload fairly, securely and efficiently. Response Manager provides customizable rules, a complete communication history, and a powerful reporting engine; all of which ensure that emails are not lost, avoided, forgotten or mismanaged.

Version 5.2 of Response Manager includes a number of important enhancements:

  • Simultaneous Outlook and Web-Client Support-With version 5.2, Response Manager users can now access their Response Manager account from Outlook and the Web-client simultaneously. Previously you could use the Outlook or Web-client versions but not at the same time. Web-client functionality is now fully integrated into version 5.2's unified server environment which means users can use whichever mail client is appropriate to their current situation, and switch back and forth as often as they need to. Not only does the Web-client interface allow Response Manager to operate in non-Outlook environments, it also provides IT managers with easier remote agent support, floating desktops, and easier integration with existing web-based applications.
  • Standard Response Outlook 2003 Plug-In-For those using Outlook 2003 as their mail client, version 5.2 now includes an optional Outlook plug-in which extends the functionality of Response Manager's much beloved standard responses. Now, in addition to the current drag-and-drop functionality of standard responses, with the plug-in installed users will see a drop down list of available standard responses. Selecting a standard response from the drop down list will insert it into the current message being edited. This makes it easier for users that often customize standard responses before sending them out. Currently available for Outlook 2003 users, the Outlook 2007 version is in development and will be coming in the first half of 2009.
  • Web-Client Enhancements:
    • Support for sending HTML messages with a built-in HTML editor.
    • New, inline, multi-language spell-checker.
    • Web-based administration of categories and standard responses.
    • The ability for users to display messages older than a certain age in a specified color.
  • Search Enhancements-Response Manager's search interface now provides access to message attachments directly from the search web page (no need to use the Copy to Search Results folder link).
  • Support for the Entourage (Mac OS) IMAP mail client.
  • Web Services Extensibility (SOAP)-Response Manager can now be integrated with other 3rd party products to offer best-of-breed capabilities in a virtual suite environment. For example, Response Manager's scheduling functionality can be integrated with the leading workforce management (WFM) solutions that many contact centers are using today, allowing single-point scheduling administration. In this scenario historical email workload metrics would flow from Response Manager to the WFM solution which would in turn determine staffing and scheduling requirements and then send the scheduling information back to Response Manager. Virtually every aspect of Response Manager is open for Web Services integration.
  • Performance Improvements-Version 5.2 continues emailtopia's constant dedication to being the most efficient and robust email management solution on the market today. Not only can a single Response Manager server process thousands of messages per day, Response Manager's Enterprise Scalability Architecture (ESA) can support multiple servers in a load balanced environment providing highly scalable solutions for challenging IMAP implementations.
